John: Some years ago, when I was an agnostic, I was chanting some Eastern mantras after having done some yoga. (I was breaking two out of ten commandments for the price of one). Then I opened my eyes and "saw" Jesus sitting in front of me. Now, I didn't see him as I am seeing my keyboard right now. The experience was more like a waking dream. Jesus was sitting very casually, perfectly relaxed, as a friend would in intimate conversation. This should have been no surprise to me since He had known me all my life and long before that. My attitude towards Christianity at that time was "been there, done that." (I accepted Him at age 18, but then walked away from Him.) But I asked myself, "Is it Jesus I've been seeking after all?" I couldn't continue my mindless chanting, so I got up and had breakfast. The very same thing happened again the very next morning. I may be stubborn, but I'm not stupid. It WAS Jesus I had been looking for all those years as I was bouncing from religion to religion in search of God. I rededicated myself to Christ that second morning and I have not looked back. Jesus has never re-appeared to me in those "waking dreams." But I can still see Him in my mind's eye with crystal clarity. And often when I pray, my mind's eye sees Him sitting with me - just like He did those two mornings. We talk.Blessings,Herb

Coffee Cup Christians: Silently, he sits and stares; His mind rehashing daily prayers of thanks and joy, of wants and cares. Silently, his sits alone without the TV or his phoneand prays that God’s desires are shown. In this solitudehe feels the steam rise from his cupas he drinks in the aroma then tastes the bitter black. Silently, he sits and waits and wonders why God hesitates when we are in such desperate straits. Coffee gone,he notices his morning mug;stained from days of neglect. He more than sees, he understands why he’s been drinking bitter brew. Silently, he prays, “Cleanse metill I am all that I should beand others can see You in me.”Unchecked lives, Unwashed cups, stain deeply over time. Both need daily cleaning to taste the full flavor of God’s Grace. Jeff H © Jan. 10, 2011 Posted by Jeff H
